Installation Time-Lapse of Maurizio Cattelan: All

This time-lapse video documents the weeks-long installation of Maurizio Cattelan: All, a display of 128 works—virtually everything the artist produced since 1989—that hangs en masse from cables connected to an aluminum truss in the Guggenheim’s rotunda. Cattelan, whose critical artistic practice exhibits a strong contempt for authority, characteristically rejects the traditional chronological retrospective model and opts instead for a site-specific installation in which his irreverent, hyperrealistic sculptures are suspended, gallows-like, in a perverse encapsulation of his career to date.
