Natalie Kovner Lieberman launched Learning to Read Through the Arts, the precursor to the Learning Through Art Program, in 1970. A native New Yorker, devoted wife and mother, and fierce advocate of the arts, Lieberman was the Guggenheim's first education development officer, and the program she founded has become, over the last four decades, one of New York City's premier arts education programs.
