Next-generation choreographers Emery LeCrone and Avi Scher premiere works set to the same music by 102-year-old Elliott Carter, two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning composer and former music director of Ballet Caravan. Accompanying the dances, clarinetist Charles Neidich, violinist Rolf Schulte, and cellist Fred Sherry perform Carter's Duettino, Gra, Fantasy, Figment I, and Con Leggerezza Pensosa. The performances feature dancers from American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Morphoses, New York City Ballet, among others, interspersed with discussion by the choreographers, moderated by New York Post dance critic Leigh Witchel. Dancers include Lia Cirio, DaVon Doane, Thomas Forster, Jennifer Goodman, Russell Janzen, Barry Kerolis, Gabrielle Lamb, Megan LeCrone Chaz Meszaros, Victoria North, Joel Prouty, Elizabeth Claire Walker, and James Whiteside.
