Ongoing
On view in its entirety beginning May 22, 2013, the Hannelore B. and Rudolph B. Schulhof Collection comprises 80 works of European and American art by artists including Alexander Calder, Eduardo Chillida, Ellsworth Kelly, Willem de Kooning, Lucio Fontana, Donald Judd, Mark Rothko, and Cy Twombly. The collection complements the Abstract Expressionist works that Peggy Guggenheim championed at her gallery Art of This Century, and puts Post-painterly abstraction and Minimalism on permanent display at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection for the first time.
The collection was bequeathed by Hannelore B. Schulhof, who acquired the works with her husband Rudolph B. Schulhof, and will reside permanently at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The Hannelore B. and Rudolph B. Schulhof Sculpture Garden presents works by Anthony Caro, Barbara Hepworth, Anish Kapoor, Sol LeWitt, and others.
