The Love of Art. Pass It On.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation proudly announces the creation of The Guggenheim Society to recognize all those who help to secure the future of the Guggenheim through a gift to the Foundation’s permanent endowment. Established by Solomon R. Guggenheim and members of the Guggenheim family in 1937 to collect, present, and conserve the art of our time, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation now comprises a collection of modern and contemporary art and architecture in five venues in New York, Venice, Berlin, Bilbao, and Abu Dhabi. The Guggenheim Society will play a key role in enhancing and securing this legacy—so important to the international art world—by expanding the permanent endowment of the Guggenheim Foundation.

Make History. Become a Founding Member.

As the Guggenheim Museum in New York approaches the 50th anniversary of its opening in 2009, you are cordially invited to become a Founding Member of The Guggenheim Society. As a Founding Member, you will become part of a select circle of supporters whose generosity and foresight will be permanently recognized as part of the Guggenheim legacy. You must make a qualifying gift or commitment before December 31, 2009.

This retrospective explores Giuseppe Capogrossi’s (1900–72) unique contribution to 20th–century art, tracing the evolution of his signature glyph in grandiose orchestrations of abstract mark and color.
