General Information

The staff at the Information Desk, just to your left as you enter, and Gallery Guides posted around the museum are available to field any questions about your visit at the museum.

Daily tours are a valuable resource for insight into various areas of the museum. Schedule may vary, so please call ahead or check the calendar for scheduled tours. If you have any further concerns regarding your visit, please call 212 423 3618 or e-mail us at visitorinfo@guggenheim.org.


For Visitors who are Blind or Visually Impaired

  • Audio tour icon Audio Guides

    Audio/verbal descriptions are available and cover the special exhibition, selections of the permanent collection, and architecture of the building. Please ask the staff at the audio desk for assistance.

  • Large print icon Large Print

    Large- and regular-print versions of our guide are available at the admissions desk. Large-print transcriptions of the audio tour are available at the audio desk.

  • Service dog icon Service dogs

    Service dogs are allowed in the museum.

  • View the schedule for our Mind’s Eye Tours, offered to partially sighted and blind adults.

  • Note: Lighting in the galleries may be dimmed to protect the art.


For Visitors who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

  • ADA symbol for access for hearing loss & large print Audio Guides

    The audio guides cover the special exhibition, selections of the permanent collection, and architecture of the building. They are T-coil compatible and equipped with volume control. Neck loops, headsets, and large or regular print transcripts are also available. Please ask the staff at the audio desk for assistance.

  • Infrared assistive listening device icon Peter B. Lewis Theater

    Infrared assisted listening devices (headsets and neck loops) are available for all performances and lectures. Please ask an usher for assistance.

  • ASL interpretation iconASL Interpretation

    ASL interpretation is provided for specified tours and gallery programs.


For Visitors with Mobility Impairments

  • Wheelchair icon Entrance

    The museum is wheelchair accessible except for the High Gallery, which is at the top of the first ramp and accessible by two low stairs. Partial view of the High Gallery is possible from the first and second rotunda ramps. The Wright restaurant can be accessed via the outdoor ramp or from the indoor chair lift. Please ask a security guard to assist you.

  • Wheelchair icon Wheelchairs

    Standard manual wheelchairs are available; please ask a security guard at the entrance for assistance. No reservation necessary.

    An individual assisting a person in a manual wheelchair can be granted a free admission ticket.

    Electric wheelchairs are allowed in the museum.

  • Wheelchair icon Restrooms

    Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available in the Sackler Center on the lower level, and on Annex Level 7.

  • Elevator

    Elevators are available from the ground floor.

  • Ramp Slope

    The grade of the ramp is 3 degrees.
