Young Collectors Council
The Young Collectors Council (YCC) is a dynamic leadership group for young professionals ages 21-40 who seek to further their understanding of contemporary art and culture. Members connect with artists of our time, prominent collectors, and leading figures in the art world through monthly programs of educational and social events designed by the museum's curators.
An integral part of the YCC is the Acquisitions Committee, a unique opportunity for members to meet twice a year to vote on new acquisitions for the museum’s contemporary collection. Acquisitions Committee members are also invited to a number of additional events including artist studio visits and private collection tours.
Katherine Brinson, Curator, Contemporary Art, Carmen Hermo, Assistant Curator, Collections, Lauren Hinkson, Assistant Curator, and Susan Thompson, Assistant Curator, work with the YCC throughout the year, informing programming and proposing works for the Acquisitions Committee.

YCC Acquisitions Committee
The Young Collectors Council Acquisitions Committee recently acquired works by artists Karla Black and Margaret Lee for the Guggenheim. Black’s sculptural installation Make Yourself Necessary (2012) and Lee’s sculpture and photograph Eggplant (phone) and Eggplant (hello) (both 2012) are exciting additions to the museum’s contemporary holdings.

YCC Art Fund
The Guggenheim's Young Collectors Council Art Fund supports the acquisition of new works by emerging artists. The YCC and its Acquisitions Committee are the only group of young professionals in New York that has made a lasting commitment to support emerging contemporary artists and expand the collection of a major, internationally recognized museum. Over the last 16 years, the YCC has raised funds to purchase more than 120 works for the museum’s collection.
