Celebrating the Chinese New Year and the opening of Cai Guo-Qiang

General operating support affords the museum flexibility to apply funds toward direct expenses across a range of projects as needed, including exhibitions, education and public programs, conservation, archival efforts, and other areas of activity. For example, a general operating support grant can help fund special exhibitions and collections-based shows; learning opportunities for people of all ages in the museum’s Sackler Center for Arts Education; efforts to study and conserve works by Vasily Kandinsky and other artists represented in the permanent collection; digitization of archival collections for greater public accessibility, and more.
