Matthew Ritchie's The Hierarchy Problem

The International Director's Council (IDC) is the Guggenheim Museum's primary acquisition committee devoted to augmenting and strengthening the contemporary collection in all mediums. Founded in 1995, the council is comprised of art collectors from around the world who share a commitment to the museum's mission, which includes acquiring and preserving a collection that reflects the most important aesthetic achievements of 20th- and 21st-century visual culture. The council's acquisitions have ranged from painting and sculpture to photography and video installations. The collection online features many IDC acquisitions. Membership to the International Director's Council is by invitation only, but all those interested in joining are welcome to contact us for more information.
