FALL FAMILY PROGRAMS AT THE GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM

Fall programs for families, kids, and teens are presented in conjunction with the exhibitions Robert Motherwell: Early Collages and Christopher Wool.
SECOND SUNDAY FAMILY TOURS
Suns, Oct 13; Nov 10; Dec 8; and Jan 12, 10:30 am–12 pm
Visitors explore the Guggenheim’s fall exhibitions through family-oriented tours that incorporate conversation and creative hands-on gallery activities.
October 13: Piecing it Together
By visiting the Guggenheim’s fall exhibition Robert Motherwell: Early Collages, families explore the different choices artists make when arranging elements in their artwork.
November 10: Adding In, Erasing Out
Participating families view works by artists Robert Motherwell and Christopher Wool in the Guggenheim’s fall exhibitions to see how different artists experiment with adding and erasing layers.
December 8: Layers on Layers
Families investigate how artists add colors, shapes and materials to create different layers in their work by exploring the exhibitions Robert Motherwell: Early Collages and Christopher Wool.
$15 per family, $10 members, free for family members and Cool Culture families. Includes museum admission and tour for two adults and up to four children. Registration required at guggenheim.org/families.
FAMILY TOUR AND WORKSHOP
Suns, Oct 27; Nov 24; and Jan 19, 10:30 am–1 pm
Following an interactive gallery tour of the Guggenheim’s fall exhibitions, families create their own artwork in our Studio Art Lab.
October 27: Mixing it Up!
Fall exhibition artists Robert Motherwell and Christopher Wool incorporate various materials into their artwork, inspiring participating families to create mixed media works of their own.
November 24: Imperfect Patterns
Families view how artists Robert Motherwell and Christopher Wool use artistic patterns in their work, to create pattered artworks of their own.
January 19: Print it Out
Participating families experiment with stamps and stencils, inspired by artist Christopher Wool’s use of stamps and printmaking in the Guggenheim’s fall exhibition.
$30 per family (includes admission, workshop materials, and tour for two adults and up to four children), $20 members, free for family members.
Wed, Nov 13; Tues, Dec 10 and Jan 14, 3-4 pm
Led by a museum educator, one-hour tours of the Guggenheim’s fall exhibitions are given for caregivers and their babies.
$15 (includes museum admission), free for family members. Includes museum admission. Single strollers and front baby carriers only. Registration required at firstname.lastname@example.org.
JUST DROP IN!
Suns, 1–4 pm
Museum educators lead creative, interactive projects for visitors that explore highlights of the fall exhibitions Robert Motherwell: Early Collages and Christopher Wool.
Free with museum admission.
OPEN STUDIOS FOR FAMILIES
Suns, 1–4 pm
Families are able to stop by the Sackler Center’s Studio Art Lab and create a work of art inspired by the Guggenheim fall exhibitions.
Free with museum admission.
ART AFTER SCHOOL
8 Tuesdays starting Oct 1, 4–6:15 pm
Tweens experience the Guggenheim’s permanent collection, Frank Lloyd Wright-designed architecture and exhibitions on view in this after-school program. Each session begins with a gallery tour that will inspire in-depth art projects in the studio including lessons in painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and more. The program concludes with a small exhibition for family and friends.
Fee: $300, $250 members, includes all art materials, snacks, a family pass, and photos documenting the program. For more information and to apply, call 212-423-3637 or email email@example.com.
FAMILY ACTIVITY PACK AND GUIDES
Sats and Suns, 10–4 pm
The Family Activity Pack prompts conversation, provides information about artwork, and offers handson activities for visitors of all ages. Permanent Collection Pack also available. Family Activity Guides provide information and activities for families to explore the Guggenheim on their own.
Free with museum admission. Available on loan at the Family Activity Kiosk.
