With the inaugural BMW
Guggenheim Lab opening in New York on August 3, the official project website, bmwguggenheimlab.org,
launched on Friday, July 8. The go-to resource for information and updates
about the Lab, the website includes behind-the-scenes videos, vision statements
from the Lab Advisory Committee, profiles of the Lab Team New York, a calendar
of events, and more.
Taking its cue from the Lab’s theme Confronting Comfort—exploring notions of
individual and collective comfort and the urgent need for environmental and
social responsibility—the initial programming
schedule includes an interactive installation, tours, workshops, discussions,
performances, film screenings, and informal gatherings. The online calendar will be updated as new events are added. All
events are free and open to the public.
In addition to providing information
about the BMW Guggenheim Lab, the website serves as a platform for sharing and
exchange that extends the Lab’s physical experience, connecting people
worldwide in thoughtful discussion about current issues and ideas and
experiments generated by the Lab.
