Guggenheim Offers Spanish and Portuguese Tours of Under the Same Sun
As part of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, the museum is offering Spanish and Portuguese language tours of the exhibition Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today.
The tours, which are part of a rich series of programs being presented alongside the second exhibition in the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, are led by gallery educators and focus on themes and artworks in Under the Same Sun. Beginning at noon on alternate Saturdays, the tours are free with admission and meet on the floor of the rotunda. No RSVP is required. Visitors can also use the free Guggenheim app to access a Spanish language tour of Under the Same Sun from their phone or tablet at anytime.
Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today is the second of three exhibitions that form part of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative. Following its presentation in New York, the exhibition will travel to two additional international venues. The artworks in the exhibition, along with others acquired as part of the initiative, will become part of the Guggenheim’s permanent collection under the auspices of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Purchase Fund.
The next Spanish-language tour of Under the Same Sun will be held on July 12, 2014, and the Portuguese on July 19, 2014. See the calendar for a full list of upcoming Under the Same Sun programs.
