Guggenheim Celebrates Museum Mile Festival

The Guggenheim, along with eight other cultural institutions, will participate in the Museum Mile Festival on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 6 to 9 pm. Stretching from 82nd to 105th Street, the mile-long street party and celebration of visual art offers an array of performances and outdoor activities as well as free admission to participating museums. For the occasion, the Guggenheim will have chalk drawing as well as free access to all exhibitions on view: The Thannhauser Collection, A Year with Children 2014, and Italian Futurism, 1909-1944: Reconstructing the Universe. The opening ceremony will take place at 5:45 pm in front of the Museum of the City of New York. Other cultural institutions joining the Guggenheim this year are El Museo del Barrio; Neue Gallery; Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution; National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
