The shelter is constructed of timber (for roof and door), concrete , granite , limestone and glass and is designed to shelter well against the area's wet and temperate climate but still capture the panoramic view of Edinburgh and Firth of Fourth that the 'Arthur's seat' site provides. The natural stone element of the shelter suiting to the landscape, as an ‘extension’ of the rocky out-crop.
