As an architecture student moving from Wisconsin to Boston the shelter I have designed is a reflection of both regions. My own “Urban Walden”, situated in Olmstead’s Public Garden, has magnificent view of both natural and man-made surroundings. The structure in theory is inherently “Boston” from its materials and intrinsic form, however this has been combined with a modernist’s urban view on Walden’s dream of a cottage in the woods.
