The Whale Bone Shelter is located at Hofsvik, Kjalarnes on the western coast of Iceland. The building material consists of driftwood, soil, stones and the bones of whales, which perish at sea and drift at the shore of Iceland. All the mentioned materials were used for centuries in Iceland and were often the only available source in the construction of buildings.
