Floating in the Prinsengracht Canal this shelter offers a wide variety of spaces: a dark and quiet bedroom; a dry and light study; a small, private terrace on the water; a broad entrance at streetlevel; and, on top of that, a sunny roofgarden. Whilst materials used respond to other houseboats, the symmetrical plan and the tripartite elevation respond to the neoclassical architecture along the Amsterdam canals.
