Located on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail, this shelter becomes a haven for researchers and enthusiasts. Taking inspiration from rolling Flint Hills of the Midwest, this design alludes a vernacular building type found throughout the region with attention to climate. Functioning windows encourage cross ventilation. An extended porch on the west and movable sunshades on skylights address the sun. Built from native limestone, this structure grows out of the hill.
