concrete square in the forest
Designed by Camilo Folly Moreira

From: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Shelter location: Brazil
Date accepted: August 18, 2009

This simple shelter, consisting of only floor and ceiling and translucent walls, conveys the relationship between rationality and organicity, present in man and nature alike. The square, thus the greatest human rationality icon, has trees going across it, what provides us with ambiguity. It is an expressive shelter with a minimum interference in the environment. Synthetic materials like concrete, glass and me tal accentuate the contrast and create dramaticity.
