Okinawa flag abstraction. Katsuren, ancient Japanese Gusuku (rampart) inspiration. Local limestone used throughout. Stainless steel seam skin roof. Laminated local bamboo used throughout. Narrow spaces to optimize two areas (Reading and Rest). Rest area with two button up screen (or canvas) windows according to climate. Reading seat with library beneath. Structural form emulates nearby Katsuren. Small private vista balcony. Site materials, rich textures and natural colors compliment.
