Jon Imanol Azua
Jon Imanol Azua is Chairman and CEO of E-Novating Lab, a think tank organization with a focus on strategy, competitiveness, and regional development, located in Bilbao.
He served as Deputy Prime Minister from the Basque Government (1991–1995), Minister of Industry and Energy (1991–1995), Minister Secretary of the Presidency (1987–1989) and Minister of Health & Labor (1985–1987) in the Basque Government. He is a former member of the Basque Parliament, former CEO of the Bilbao Stock Exchange (1989–1991), and CEO of Bilbao Plaza Financiera.
Azua’s board memberships included Petronor; BBK Savings Bank; Saving Basque Agency; and Euskalnet, a telecom operator. Azua is the recipient of the Eisenhower Fellowship (1998) and the author of numerous scholarly publications. He is a visiting professor for Competitiveness at Deusto University (Basque Country) and the MOC network at Harvard Institute for Strategy, Competitiveness and Economical Development (Boston). Currently he is International Senior Advisor to the Chair on Strategy at Competitiveness at ITESM (Monterrey Teach Institute) at México, and chairs the Advisory Board of the Institute of Competitiveness at the Basque Country.
He has been a member of the Guggenheim Board of Trustees since 1997.
