Nestled in a narrow alley in the dense fabric of Lower East Side of Manhattan, the shelter is an impromptu urban refuge for passersby. The structure is easily missed at first look, but adds a sense of discovery for city dwellers who know the existence of the structure, just like the many hidden alleys throughout the city. The shelter has a bench that gently slopes into a bed platform for resting and studying.
