WABI-MOKKI: Emerald Bay Revisited
Designed by Michael Hootman

The Wabi-Mokki shelter is the community unit in a floating summer colony on Lake Tahoe, California. Wind is both the problem and the solution to living in comfort on the water. Tethered at its bow, the shelter always points its protected end into the wind. The antique wood is salvaged from wrecks and lumber in the lake. Its weathered surface is deeply veined but smooth to the touch.
