Located in Chicago, the shelter is placed near the edge of Lake Michigan in a park. Oriented so the connection of the lake to the city can flow through the structures fold-down walls. Utilizing all the concrete form-work, unmodified, for the rest of the structure, as well as walls, produces no waste. Optimized cross ventilation, double skinned roof, shading, south windows, fireplace, and massing, allow for year round use.
