Programs
for children at the Guggenheim are developed to encourage a deep
connection to works of art and artistic expression. Children are
invited to participate in conversations, sketch in the galleries, and
create a variety of individual and collaborative art projects, as well
as learn about artistic processes and expressing their ideas. Programs
are taught by artists and museum educators who use a wide range of
mediums in order to allow experimentation and foster creativity.
Programs include: Art After School, Midwinter Break Camp, Spring Break
Camp, and Summerscapes.

Art After School
8 Tuesdays: beginning October 5, 2010, 4 pm–6:15 pm
Open to children ages 8–11
Does your child love to explore museums and create their own masterful works of art? Then this program is for them! We invite your child to come experience the museum’s spectacular Frank Lloyd Wright–designed architecture and permanent collection, as well as our special exhibition, Chaos and Classicism. Each session’s gallery visit serves as inspiration for the in-depth art projects in art studio. Your child will get a chance to learn about a wide range of art making techniques, including tempera painting, charcoal drawing, sculpture, print-making, collage, and photography. The program concludes with a mini-exhibition for family and friends.
Fee: $300 ($250 for members). Fee includes 8 sessions, all art materials, snacks, a family pass, and a CD Rom with photos documenting the program.
