Teacher Resources

The Education Department provides materials for teachers to help prepare students for a museum visits and to assist educators in developing classroom lessons.

Materials for teachers include:

Exhibition Resource Units
Curriculum materials to support the use of the museum's exhibitions and collections both during school visits and in the classroom. The lessons are designed to be relevant beyond the life of a particular exhibition. They can be used individually or in combination to develop concepts and themes related to the classroom curriculum, to exhibitions at the museum, or to modern and contemporary art in general.

Looking At Art
A demonstration and a database of inquiry plans prepared for classroom use, as well as tips on leading inquiry discussions.

Making Art
Descriptions of curriculum-related art projects that provide students with the tools to express their ideas visually.

Resource Center
Located in the Sackler Center, this facility provides educators with reference materials including information on exhibitions and collections of the Guggenheim museums. Staff are available by appointment to assist teachers with curriculum development. For more information, call 212 423 3780.
