Arts Curriculum

Note to Teachers

Welcome educators! This section of the museum’s website is designed to provide you with curriculum materials that can be used in the classroom or to prepare your students for a trip to Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

The resource units available here focus on recent exhibitions. You may download PDFs of the entire unit, or search the site for a specific artist, exhibition, or curriculum area.

Each resource unit includes:

  • An introductory essay about the exhibition
  • A short biography of the artist
  • Information on specific works of art
  • High-resolution images of works of art that can be downloaded
  • Suggested discussion questions to facilitate open-ended exploration
  • Follow-up activities correlated with core-curriculum subject areas
  • A listing of additional resources including books, video tapes, Web sites, and definitions of words that may be new to students
