What do you need to know before visiting the Guggenheim with your students?

After you have booked your tour, use the following materials in your classroom to prepare everyone for their visit.

What are the museum’s rules?

During your visit, please remember:

• Touch the works of art only with your eyes, never with your hands.
• Walk in the museum—do not run.
• Use a quiet voice when sharing your ideas.
• No photography is allowed above the entry level.
• Write and draw only with pencils—no pens or markers please.

What will we see?

Before your trip, preview exhibitions that are currently on view and visit the collection online to search for works in the Guggenheim collection by artist, date, or medium.
 

What can I do in the classroom to prepare my students for their visit?

The more your students know in advance, the better their museum experience will be. To build excitement for your trip, please familiarize your students with the museum.
