When the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opened in 1997, it was instantly hailed as the most important building of its time. In the years since its opening, the collection, amassed with the guidance and support of the Guggenheim Foundation's curatorial team, has also garnered critical acclaim. Works acquired by Tenedora Museo de Arte Moderno y Contemporáneo de Bilbao, S.L. are considered part of the global Guggenheim collection and are generously made available for Guggenheim Foundation-organized exhibitions worldwide. View a selection of these works in our Collection Online.
