Families with children ages 4–9. Join bestselling children’s book author Hervé Tullet for a reading of his new book Mix It Up! and make art inspired by the book and the exhibition ZERO: Countdown to Tomorrow, 1950s–60s.

$25 per family (includes a copy of the book and admission); $20 for Individual Members and their families; $15 for Family Members, LTA, and Cool Culture Families. Registration required.

The Sound of Art: Family Tour and Workshop

For families with children ages 5–12. Inspired by the work of Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today exhibition artist Carlos Amorales, musician Skip La Plante from Bash the Trash leads this fun, hands-on workshop that invites participants to create musical mobiles from found objects. Take the mobiles home and use them as wind chimes!

Tickets are offered at a discounted rate thanks to support from UBS. $15 per family (includes admission and materials for 2 adults and 4 children), $10 for members, and FREE for Family Members.



Second Sunday Family Tours

For families with children ages 5–12.

Join us on the second Sunday of the month for family-oriented tours that incorporate conversation and creative hands-on gallery activities. $15 per family, $10 members, free for Family Members. Registration required at 212 423 3587, Mon–Fri, 1–5 pm.

Following an interactive gallery tour, family members enjoy creating artwork in our studio. Group rates include admission for two adults and up to four children, workshop materials, and a guided tour.

Stop by the Family Activity Kiosk to pick up an activity pack for an engaging museum visit. Filled with thought-provoking activities and games, our Family Activity Packs provide all the tools for an engaging self-guided tour, including activity guides, sketchbooks, colored pencils, and more. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Filled with suggestions of things to do and talk about when visiting the museum, including artwork-specific question cards, touch objects, games, picture books, sketch pads, and pencils, activity packs enhance your family's experience of the exhibition.


Recommended for families with kids ages 4–12. Available weekends at the Family Activity Kiosk. Last pickup is at 4 pm.
