Mind's Eye: Programs for Visitors who are
Partially Sighted,
Blind or Deaf
Mind's Eye programs, offered monthly, provide an opportunity for visitors to explore the museum's exhibitions, collections and architecture through visual and linguistic tools particular to their experience. Tours and workshops are conducted through Verbal Imaging and Touch, and in American Sign Language. Led by arts and education professionals, Mind's Eye programs are forums for shared observation and discussion, in keeping with the educational philosophy of interactive exchange of the museum's Sackler Center for Arts Education.
The Guggenheim Museum aims to create an inclusive environment for all visitors. Staff members are always available to answer visitor questions about accessibility. Please direct your questions to the staff at the information desk, to the left as you enter the museum, or to one of the museum's Gallery Guides, dressed all in black with big, orange "information" buttons, who are posted throughout the galleries. Gallery Guides are trained to provide Verbal Imaging descriptions for visitors with low vision or blindness. Assistive listening devices are used during daily Educator's Eye tours at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm.
