The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum Library contains published resources that reflect and inform museum collections and exhibitions, with particular focus on modern and contemporary art, architecture, and photography. Collections include global Guggenheim exhibition catalogues, rare books, the Hilla Rebay Library, as well as an actively growing collection of artist monographs, art criticism and theory, reference materials, and periodicals.
Mission
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum Library's mission is to support the research endeavors of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum's professional staff. Staff includes curators, registrars, exhibition designers, development officers, educators, and administrative staff. The Library also serves interns, volunteers, docents, and teachers at the museum.
Resources
The Library provides a library catalog and the following databases: Art Full Text, Artnet, BHA, Chicago Manual of Style, and JSTOR.
Bibliographies are lists of exhibition catalogues, books, and articles relating to topics such as the museum; recent, current, and upcoming exhibitions; and individuals of note. These bibliographies are intended as a general starting point for visitors interested in further exploring the Guggenheim Museum and its collections.
