


The Museum Archives actively acquires materials related to the history of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and its Museum in New York. Currently, collections from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s are prioritized. At this time, the Museum Archives can only accept physical collections, not digital images or reproductions.

The Guggenheim Library welcomes gifts and donations. Due to limited space, all gifts and donations are reviewed and acceptance depends on the criteria outlined in the library’s collection development policy, which is available upon request.

All donations become property of the Guggenheim Library and Archives. The library and archives retains the right to dispose of unneeded items in any way it sees fit, including by trade, sale, disposal, or donation. Due to the volume of material received, materials cannot be returned and may not be acknowledged. In select cases, written acknowledgment for accepted gifts can be requested prior to the donation.
