The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum Library and Archives are located within the Guggenheim Offices at 345 Hudson Street, 12th floor, New York, NY.
Archives
Researchers
can conduct preliminary research in the Guggenheim’s Archives
Collections by consulting finding aids for the collections. A
list of collections with finding aids can be found in the Archives Collections.
Access: The Archives are open to established scholars and doctoral students
by advance appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. To schedule an appointment, contact libraryandarchives@guggenheim.org. It is recommended that appointment requests
are
made at least two weeks prior to the visit. Requests must be in writing
and should include box and folder numbers from the finding aids.
All visitors must complete a Reader’s Registration Form and review the Access Policy. In addition, the Duplication Form and the Publications Rights Policy
outline duplication and publication use. Requests for publication
of records in collections should be addressed to libraryandarchives@guggenheim.org.
Library
While the Library is open exclusively to museum staff, volunteers, and
interns, special collections are available for access by qualified
scholars. These collections include the global Guggenheim exhibition
catalogues and unique rare books. Scholars interested in viewing
resources in the special collections should follow the access
procedures listed above for the Archives.
Further questions regarding the Library and Archives should be sent to libraryandarchives@guggenheim.org.
