Jeffrey Warda receives President's Award from AIC

Jeffrey Warda, Associate Conservator, Paper, will receive the President's Award from the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) on behalf of the Digital Photographic Documentation Task Force that he chaired from 2006–08. The six task force members received this award to recognize their work as authors of the newly published AIC Guide to Digital Photography and Conservation Documentation. Jeffrey developed the concept of this task force and was coauthor and editor of the publication. The guide provides practical recommendations for the conservation profession in the use of digital photographic equipment, while also addressing concerns about long-term accessibility and preservation of electronic records. In addition, the task force made much needed revisions to  the AIC Code of Ethics and Commentaries to the Guidelines for Practice (the code of ethics for members of AIC) to allow for electronic storage of conservation documentation records and to provide guidance for conservators working with electronic records. To purchase the guide, visit the AIC website.
