    The sinking of the Titanic on April 14, 1912, has continued to move and fascinate for generations. Artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster creates a site-specific staged audience experience in the museum’s rotunda, inspired by this historic event and wherein the audience plays a role. Gavin Bryars's The Sinking of the Titanic will be at the core of the installation, performed by The Wordless Music Orchestra. "Boarding" closes at 8:40 pm and 10:40 pm.

    We are also offering two "First Class" tickets for the evening.

    First Class Dinner and Boarding, 7 pm

    $350 per person ($233 is tax deductible)

    The first performance will commence with a Titanic-inspired 3-course dinner with wine in our award-winning restaurant, The Wright. Once dinner has concluded, guests will be ushered into the museum and escorted to the First Class Deck, where guests will be able to enjoy a performance of The Sinking of the Titanic and a private bar.

    The T.1912 Leadership Committee is pleased to host the evening's second voyage with a champagne and dessert reception. Guests will also enjoy the First Class Deck during the 10:40 pm performance. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Young Collector's Acquisitions Fund.

    *Please join us the following afternoon on Friday, April 15, at 2:45 pm for a post-performance conversation with the artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Joan Young, Guggenheim Museum Associate Curator of Contemporary Art. The discussion will follow the 2 pm screening of the seminal 1912 Titanic film In Nacht und Eis (In Night and Ice) in the New Media Theater of the Sackler Center for Arts Education, located in the lower level of the museum.
