Jason Moran and The Bandwagon perform as part of Carrie Mae Weems LIVE: Past Tense/Future Perfect. A conversation with Carrie Mae Weems and Jason Moran will kick off the evening. Reception and viewing of Carrie Mae Weems: Three Decades of Photography and Video follows the concert.

$35, $30 members, $15 for students with valid ID

In the case of a sold out event, standby numbers are available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning 30 minutes before the start of Public Programs. Each person is given one number (good for one ticket), and may hold a number for one other person. Jason Moran and The Bandwagon comprises jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran, bassist Tarus Mateen, and drummer Nasheet Waits. Their first recording as a trio was Facing Left (2000). Saxophonist Sam Rivers joined them for Black Stars (2001) and guitarist Marvin Sewell for the blues exploration Same Mother (2005). Moran has received critical acclaim and numerous awards for his playing and composition, which combine elements of avant-garde jazz, classical music, hip hop, spoken word, and stride piano. Moran is the Kennedy Center’s Artistic Advisor for Jazz and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2010. jasonmoran.com
