Against the background of spectacular images filmed in Arizona, James Turrell describes his research into form in natural light and his friendship with the Hopi people. Turrell also presents the Roden Crater Project, a massive, naked-eye observatory he is constructing in an extinct volcano outside of Flagstaff, Arizona.
