Eleanor Goldhar

Deputy Director and Chief of Global Communications

Eleanor Goldhar’s career combines executive experience in public and private sector communications, marketing, public relations, and strategic planning. Goldhar joined the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in June 2007 after eight years as the Executive Officer of External Affairs at the 92nd Street Y, where her responsibilities included strategic planning, branding and marketing communications, customer service, sponsorship, creative and web services, and public and media relations. Prior to the 92nd Street Y, Goldhar worked at Livent Inc., a Tony Award–winning producer of Broadway and touring theater productions, as the Vice President of Publicity & Corporate Relations. At Livent, she was responsible for worldwide planning and management of all publicity, corporate relations, promotions, and publications for all shows. Goldhar also worked as Director of Communications & Research at the Ontario Arts Council, and was head of Programs & Public Relations at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto where she was responsible for marketing, publicity, and public programming.

Educated in Toronto at York University and at the University of Toronto, where her doctoral work focused on theater and dramatic literature, Goldhar is an accredited member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), from which she received the Golden Quill Award of Excellence. Goldhar is a frequent lecturer on marketing, communications, media, and government relations.
