Christina Yang works closely with her museum colleagues to design and oversee a schedule of multidisciplinary programs for adults that deepen intellectual engagement with the museum’s permanent collection, special exhibitions, architectural program, and other special projects. The programs take the form of scholarly lectures, multidisciplinary panel discussions, academic symposiums, weekly film screenings, literature readings, performance events, and gallery talks. Yang is also an adjunct lecturer in the MFA Program in Photography and Related Media at the School of Visual Arts and the MFA Program in New Media and Performance at Long Island University. In her previous position as the Director of Media Arts at The Kitchen, she oversaw several performance and visual art productions, the Kitchen Video Archives, monthly exhibitions at The Kitchen Art Gallery, the Digital Happy Hour program series, and four international conferences on the landscape of art and technology. She has held curatorial positions at the Queens Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and worked as a writer/publicist at the Whitney Museum of American Art and as a program coordinator at Studio in a School in New York. Yang holds a BA in history and art history from the University of California, Berkeley, and a MA from the Williams College Graduate Program in Art History. She was enrolled in the PhD program in art history at the City University of New York from 1989–96.
