Assistant Production Manager

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking an Assistant Production Manager, who will be responsible for assisting with print production for all exhibition catalogues, the Guggenheim guide, retail products, and digital image production for both multimedia guides and the online collection. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong communication and organizational skills, work well in a team environment and must have a keen eye for detail in order to produce fine art publications and related digital media content. Editor

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking an Editor. As a member of the Publishing and Digital Media Department, the Editor is responsible for editing for exhibition catalogues and exhibition-related material. The Editor will have the overall responsibility for editing all texts on specific catalogues, as well as managing the editorial schedule, and determining, along with the Managing Editor, to hire outside editors or translators or to add additional support staff if necessary. Additionally, the Editor is responsible for tracking any texts that require translation and ensuring that they are edited on schedule. Work on all catalogue and exhibition-related material, including wall texts, labels, invitations, digital texts, etc., is the responsibility of the Editor to edit and oversee. The Editor must have a strong understanding of modern and contemporary art, and experience with editing academic texts, including knowledge of long-form editing style, using his/her ability to emphasize structure and clarity of language.

Gallery Guides

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking Gallery Guides. Gallery Guides serve a dual role as both security guard and art educator. They are responsible for the security and safety of the artwork and of visitors, and for actively encouraging visitors to discuss their questions and ideas about art. They are trained and certified in compliance with New York State Certification regulations, and trained as a gallery educator to the standards of the museum’s Education department. They are required to attend and actively participate in all trainings (paid) in security guard procedures, education techniques and exhibition content. As frontline staff, they are required to maintain a welcoming and professional attitude towards visitors and staff at all times. Annual performance evaluations will be conducted jointly by the Managing Director and Counsel for Administration and the Senior Education Manager, Adult and Access Programs.

Head of Exhibition Construction

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking the Head of Exhibition Construction. As a member of the Exhibition Management Department, the Head of Exhibition Construction is responsible for the management of all aspects of exhibition construction within the Museum’s rotunda and galleries, as well as offsite spaces as required. Manager of Special Events

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking a Manager of Special Events. The Manager of Special Events is responsible for the project management of events offered to individual, institutional and corporate supporters of the Guggenheim Museum. As one of the benefits of Corporate Membership, the Manager (in collaboration with the Director of Special Events and the other Manager of Special Events) will work on the organization of events for private groups. Each member of the events team will manage a portfolio of corporate clients and the corresponding events. Manager, Media Arts

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking a Manager, Media Arts to specialize in the installation of artworks that employ video, audio, film, computers, and any other type of electronic media. Primary responsibilities include oversight of successful installation and proper maintenance of all multi-media artworks, maintenance of equipment inventory, preparation of diagrams for installation in NY and other venues, and identification and purchase of appropriate equipment for artworks. Marketing Manager

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking a Marketing Manager. This position will report to the Director of Marketing, and will work in close collaboration with the Associate Director Marketing and Associate Director, Digital Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager will take a lead role in developing strategic integrated marketing programs that leverage traditional and digital media to support the Works & Process performing arts series, tourism development, as well as select exhibitions, programs, and initiatives at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of marketing project management, setting project management schedules, including media planning and placement, design and production of materials, deliverables, and reviews for multiple parties internal to and external to the Guggenheim, and ensuring that campaigns remain on track to meet strategic objectives. Inter- and cross-departmental collaboration, and external relationship management with media partners, vendors, agencies, and designers is integral to the Marketing Manager’s role.

Senior Manager, Communications

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation (SRGF) is seeking a Senior Manager, Communications. The position will report to and collaborate with the Director, Communications – Foundation and Collaborations, and assume significant project management responsibilities on a variety of departmental initiatives including new international projects. In addition to other institutional special projects and initiatives, this position will work heavily on supporting the strategy and implementation of communications—marketing, public relations, online content publication—for the Guggenheim UBS Global Art Initiative, which fosters cross-cultural interaction between artists, curators, and audiences via educational programs, online activities, and collection building. Inter- and cross-departmental collaboration, and external relationship management with vendors, contracted agencies, and corporate partners around the world is integral to the Sr. Manager’s role.
