On September 24, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Art from the Middle East: A Public Forum will mark the second event in the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Talking Art Series, a sequence of talks and panel discussions with artists, curators, scholars, and thinkers about key ideas informing the development of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Art from the Middle East: A Public Forum invites the public in Abu Dhabi to hear and take part in a discussion about to the future museum’s collection. The forum will take place at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi from 1 to 2:30 pm.

In last May’s inaugural public forum, entitled Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, A Transnational Museum for the 21st Century and moderated by Deputy Director and Chief Curator Nancy Spector, and Curator of the Abu Dhabi Project, Suzanne Cotter, panelists shared their views on the transnational in the context of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Talking Art Series is presented by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.

Guest speakers Salwa Mikdadi, H.R.H. Princess Wijdan Al-Hashemi, and Professor Salah Hassan were invited to participate in the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s first public panel Guggenheim Abu Dhabi: A Transnational Museum for the 21st Century in 2011, which explored the concept of the transnational as a framework for the future museum. The panel was moderated by Suzanne Cotter, Curator, Abu Dhabi Project, and Nancy Spector, Deputy Director and Chief Curator, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
